In December 2025, the facility was accepted by the Department of State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Krasnodar Krai Administration. The acceptance acts of the general contractor LLC RK ElitStroyProekt (Limited Liability Company «RK ElitStroyProekt») for the completion of repair and restoration work were signed on January 26, 2026.

The station building in the Stalinist Empire style is one of the most recognizable symbols of the resort city. The three-tiered tower with a 36-meter spire, open observation decks and sculptural groups was reconstructed for the first time.

«The project relied on thorough scientific research, from studying the architects» drawings to laboratory analyses of coatings. It was necessary to preserve both the decorative details — colonnades, ornamental stucco and sculptural compositions — and the complex geometry of the structure. The considerable height of the sculptural compositions required the construction of protective shelters,« the statement said.

During the restoration, the sculptures and stained glass of the spire, interior finishes were updated, roofing work was carried out, and the facade, stucco and decorative elements were restored.

The ensemble of the sea terminal is one of the so-called planning centers of the city of Sochi. On one hand, built according to the drawings of academician K. S. Alabyan, architect L. B. Karlik and engineer A. F. Kuzmin, it was interpreted as a grand entrance to the city from the sea; on the other hand, crowned with a spire and a star as a sign of the triumph of Victory, it symbolized the continuity of generations. In December 2025, the sea terminal celebrated the 70th anniversary of its opening.
