Sochi Prosecutor Ovechkin Seeks Krasnodar Court Deputy Chair

The Higher Qualification Board of Judges of Russia will consider the application of Sochi Prosecutor Vyacheslav Ovechkin, who has proposed his candidacy for the position of deputy chairman of the Krasnodar Krai Court, on February 9. This is stated in the agenda of the board«s next meeting.
Vyacheslav Ovechkin was born on August 22, 1984, and graduated from the Orenburg State Agrarian University with a degree in Jurisprudence in 2006. He has been working in the prosecutor«s office since 2012, holding positions as assistant, senior assistant, and deputy prosecutor of the Leninsky District of Orenburg, first deputy of the Buzuluksky Interdistrict Prosecutor of the Orenburg Oblast, and was appointed first deputy prosecutor of the Baikonur Complex in 2016.
In the prosecutor«s office of Krasnodar Krai since August 2017, he has held positions as assistant prosecutor of Krasnodar Krai overseeing the implementation of laws on federal security, interethnic relations, countering extremism and terrorism, first deputy prosecutor of Sochi, prosecutor of the Central District of Sochi, and was appointed deputy prosecutor of Krasnodar Krai—prosecutor of Sochi in October 2020. He has been awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II class medal.
