One mention of buuz appears in an email from May 23, 2017. An unknown sender wrote a message with the subject: «My traditional dish — buuz, which I have dreamed of for a whole 7 years?!»

The email contained a link leading to a site with recipes, restaurant reviews, and travel stories about Central Europe, Russia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. In a 2013 post, a New York journalist wrote about visiting the Buryat-Mongolian restaurant «Selenge» in Moscow and then published a step-by-step recipe for buuz.

Two months later, buuz were mentioned a second time — in a message sent to the same email. On August 14, 2017, Epstein received an email with the subject: «Re: Jeffrey tries Russian/Buryat cuisine. Guess what he liked the most?»

According to the screenshot, two photos were attached to the email. However, the authorities have not released them.

In response, a message was sent with the note: «Thank you for taking care of him. I hope everything was well!»

The first investigation into the billionaire began in 2005 when the parents of one of the girls reported to the police that Epstein had sexually exploited their daughter. As part of a deal with the prosecution, the billionaire pleaded guilty to two counts: soliciting prostitution and involving a minor in prostitution. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, served about 13 months of that, and was allowed to work during the day. The public heavily criticized the country«s prosecution for the lenient sentence.

In 2019, Epstein was charged with trafficking minors for sexual exploitation and organizing a sex trafficking network for children. He was arrested on July 6 and faced up to 45 years in prison. On August 10, he was found dead in his cell at a New York prison. After that, the case was closed but did not stop being discussed.
