Recall that recently, the U.S. Department of Justice published over three million pages of documents related to the investigation into financier Jeffrey Epstein. He was pursued on charges of sexual exploitation and running a prostitution network involving underage girls.

Jeffrey Epstein was an American financier accused of trafficking minors for sexual exploitation and coercing young women into prostitution. He was detained and tried several times: in 2008 for coercion into prostitution, and in 2019 again on serious charges. After his last arrest, he was found dead in his prison cell under suspicious circumstances, which sparked much controversy and rumors. His case drew attention to issues of sexual exploitation and elite connections with criminal schemes.

Princesses

The documents drew attention to the names of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, King Frederik of Denmark, and Princess Sofia of Sweden.

The Norwegian broadcasting company NRK emphasized that Mette-Marit«s name appears in the files hundreds of times. The princess herself told journalists: »I take responsibility for not investigating Epstein«s past better and not understanding what kind of person he was quickly enough. I would like to state that I regret having any communication with Epstein. It is simply a shame.»

Earlier, the princess stated that she stopped communicating with him back in 2013. However, it later emerged that in 2014, Mette-Marit and Epstein met in Florida. The princess spent four days with him, and her son, Marius Høiby, also met Epstein once.

Incidentally, Mette-Marit«s son is currently on trial for 32 crimes (including rapes). Høiby faces up to 10 years in prison.

Also, the files claimed that King Frederik of Denmark (then still a prince) met with a businessman connected to Epstein«s business operations. He is mentioned again in correspondence from 2012 in connection with a private dinner attended by 22 people.

«The royal family stated in a press release that King Frederik never met with Epstein. The documents also mentioned the name of Swedish Princess Sofia.

In 2012, Princess Sofia attended a film screening in New York as Epstein«s guest of honor. Earlier, the Swedish royal palace stated that Princess Sofia met Epstein several times in 2005, but has not had contact with him for the past 20 years,» writes the publication En Haberle.

Prince Andrew

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, appeared in photos in the Epstein files — or it was someone remarkably similar to him.

In the photo, allegedly, Andrew is on the floor, on all fours. Under him on the floor lies an unknown girl, fully clothed. In two photos, he is touching her stomach, and in another shot, he is looking directly at the camera. Information on when and where these photos were taken has not been provided.

«According to a document from September 27, 2010, Epstein contacted Mountbatten-Windsor while in London and mentioned the possibility of »spending time alone«,» writes Anadolu Agency.

BBC News reported that it reached out to Mountbatten-Windsor for comments. He has repeatedly denied any crimes in connection with Epstein. Nevertheless, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that Andrew must testify in the Epstein case.

Previously, Andrew was stripped of his royal titles due to his connections with him. We covered this scandal separately.

Epstein Criminal Case

The sex scandal involving American financier Jeffrey Epstein began back in 2005. The financier was convicted for having sex with a 14-year-old girl and trafficking minors. The financier was arrested in 2006 for 13 months. By that time, law enforcement had established that 36 underage girls had suffered at his hands.

In October 2017, the media resumed examining the Epstein case. This led to a new investigation and the seizure of his Manhattan mansion. There, law enforcement also found thousands of photos of naked underage girls.

The financier was arrested again in July 2019, and in August of the same year, Epstein committed suicide in prison.

In January 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice published new data on this high-profile case. The documents mention U.S. President Donald Trump, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, American entrepreneur Bill Gates, billionaire Elon Musk, and other influential figures.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to deny information about any contacts related to Epstein. He notes that they had bad relations and, moreover, he was never on the famous island associated with this financier.
