Volgograd photographer showcases frozen Volga's stunning beauty

Only the fisherman is alone tending to his business...
Volgograd photographer Alena Demochkina captured the breathtaking beauty of winter on the Volga. The mighty river, seemingly bound by ice and covered in snow, does not lose its strength and grandeur. The shots are almost devoid of people — not everyone is willing to brave the cold to admire the beauty, but that is certainly not the case for photographers. As Alena said, her camera is always with her, ready for action. Yesterday she was strolling along the embankment and noticed a lone fisherman on the ice — so she decided to get closer and take a few shots. Let«s take a look and admire.

The famous white-and-blue ‘Volga Sails’ blend organically with the snow
Recently, photographer Alexei Polyakov captured the winter landscapes of the Staraya Sarepta museum-reserve — a unique corner of European culture and lifestyle in the Krasnoarmeisky district of Volgograd. Even in winter, it lives its own unique and vibrant life.

What is this sprout doing here?
And if you are tired of winter, cold, and snow and dreaming of warmth, we invite you to admire the bright tulips, shared by photographer Andrei Steblev. These wonderful flowers can be seen in large numbers not far from Volgograd. The main thing is to remember that the flowers are very delicate. You can admire them, photograph them as much as you like, but picking them for bouquets is strictly discouraged. Firstly, because once picked, these flowers wilt very quickly, literally before your eyes, and secondly, because they are rare and listed in the Red Book, and therefore you can get a substantial fine even for a single picked flower.

Near the shore the ice has frozen the water, but further out, vessels can move freely

Go a little further and you can warm up under a roof

Here are more brave souls — a family not afraid to walk in the cold

One can imagine how fun it would be to slide down this small slope as a child...

The ice may seem strong, but it can be treacherous
