The Tula region may be covered by a strong magnetic storm by midday on January 20. The cause is a solar flare of class G4.7, which is very close to the highest — G5. These data are provided by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

Thus, by 15:00 on January 20, the region will be covered by a magnetic storm with a strength of 7 points out of 9 — this is considered a strong magnetic storm. Weather-sensitive residents of Tula may experience dizziness, drowsiness, migraines, nausea, and so on.

Fortunately, the magnetic storm will not last long. By 18:00, the storm«s power will decrease to 6 points (moderate), and by midnight, it will drop to normal levels.

Also, currently, the largest radiation storm of this century is observed around Earth, caused by the same solar flare. The observed phenomenon is more powerful than it was in the distant year 2003.
