Yekaterinburg Man Receives 10-Billion-Ruble Bill for City Center Parking

The parking terminal presented a driver with a multi-billion ruble charge for a brief parking session.
A Yekaterinburg resident was presented with a giant bill for parking in the city center. The payment terminal demanded 10 billion rubles (about $125 million at current rates) from him!
‘I parked at a paid parking lot on Turgenev Street, 1, and wanted to pay for 3 hours, but the parking meter displayed the amount shown in the photo. I barely managed to pull my card back!’ said E1.RU reader Vyacheslav.
Seeing the number with ten zeros, the driver tried to cancel the operation to try again, but he was unsuccessful.
‘It didn«t even let me exit to the main menu, it wrote: »Try another card or QR code, where the same exorbitant amount for payment was.« In the end, I just parked in another place,’ added Vyacheslav.
The press service of the Yekaterinburg mayor«s office explained the insane figure that appeared on the terminal screen as an error in its operation and promised to look into the situation.
This is not the first time something like this has happened. We have already reported how a girl left her car for two days at the parking lot near Koltsovo Airport and received a bill for 50 thousand rubles (about $625 at current rates), while the stated cost of parking is 600 rubles per day (about $8 at current rates).
