Warming Points Ready to Assist Drivers on Chelyabinsk Oblast Highways

The locations of mobile warming stations on federal highways have been announced to help drivers during abnormal frosts.

Six mobile warming points will operate on federal highways in Chelyabinsk Oblast during the abnormal frosts. This was announced on Wednesday, January 21, by the Southern Ural Road Administration.

The stations provide drinking water, a first-aid kit, and blankets for stranded drivers.

  • M-5 highway — near Aşa (1563 km), Zlatoust (1737 km), Miass (1779 km);

  • R-254 «Irtysh» highway — near the settlement of Vakhrushevo (30 km);

  • A-310 highway — near Troitsk (132 km);

  • Approach to Yekaterinburg — turn to Tyubuk (110 km).

Others use specialized vehicles from fire and rescue units as temporary bases.

«We ask to refrain from travel unless absolutely necessary, especially in the mining and factory zone and steppe areas,» road workers appealed to drivers. «Follow the recommendations of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate on the technical readiness of vehicles for driving in severe frost conditions.»
