Tyumen Residents Complain About Buses Leaving Early

City buses in Tyumen are scheduled to operate until midnight, but residents report frequent early departures disrupting service.
Residents of Tyumen are complaining about bus problems. According to city dwellers, minibuses and buses can leave early. Tracking the transport movement is impossible because information about them is not displayed in special services for some reason.

A commuter arrived at the bus stop ahead of time only to find that the bus had already departed.
“What are the bus drivers thinking when they leave ahead of schedule? Yesterday, I was going to work — bus 96 left early. When I left work — the same story. It leaves 5 minutes early. And the next one only comes in 20 minutes. You have to stand in the cold and freeze. Who is this schedule for?” a reader wonders.

Technical issues prevent users from successfully topping up their public transport cards through mobile apps.
Apparently, this situation is not rare. We have received numerous complaints that drivers leave early. Even from terminal stops. Why this is happening is unknown.
“There«s another interesting practice among minibus drivers: if they»re running late, they just drive past empty, without picking up passengers. That«s wonderful, especially in the morning cold,” shares Anna.
“We check the schedule at home via Wi-Fi, go to the stop on time. And then it«s a matter of luck: the bus might leave early, might not come at all (like when buses 55 or 53 break down), or minibuses 84 and 76 run completely off schedule. What»s the point of the schedule? You stand and freeze. Sometimes you end up having to take a taxi,” writes a female reader.
As readers report, the bus location tracking system doesn«t help either — it requires internet, and it doesn»t always work.
“Bus 81 often doesn«t show up in 2GIS, most often it doesn»t run on schedule, either it«s late or it leaves early. It»s a complete mess, and all calls to dispatchers are useless,” says a Tyumen resident.
“Put the «Tyumen Transport» app on the «white list»! Otherwise, you«re standing in the cold at a bus stop and can»t see where the bus is in your own city! A nightmare!” exclaims Alfia.
Another problem faced by Tyumen residents is the inability to top up TTS (Tyumen Transport System) cards through banking apps. Some cannot use benefits, while others are simply left without money.
“I topped up my card from Sberbank on Monday, still no money. In the personal account — a pending payment. The response through Gosuslugi (Government Services portal) was a formal reply. They pocketed a thousand rubles (approx. $11 at current rates),” shares Anastasia.
“What«s the point of these transfer tariffs? I haven»t been able to top up my TTS card for a week now. And for my child too, it just gives an error. Well, the child is at home now due to «aktirovki» (weather-related school closures), otherwise he would pay like an adult — 37 rubles (approx. $0.40 at current rates) instead of 8 rubles (approx. $0.09),” grumbles a Tyumen resident.
The editorial board reached out to the Tyumen city administration for comment. At the time of publication, no response had been received.
Earlier we reported that in Tyumen, the discount for paying for public transport via the fast payment system was removed. By paying for the trip via QR code, passengers could save 8 rubles (approx. $0.09). However, the promotion ended at the beginning of the year.
