Train to Chita delayed 16 hours after derailment

Train No. 70, which departed Moscow on February 1, is delayed by 16.5 hours on its way to Chita due to a freight car derailment. Information about the delay is displayed on the Russian Railways (RZD) website when purchasing tickets.

The derailment of 22 freight cars occurred on February 1 on the Orici–Shalegovo stretch in Kirov Oblast. No one was injured in the incident. Traffic on the section was temporarily suspended. On February 3, railway workers completed restoration work on the section and opened traffic on the second track.
The train«s route indicates that the delay began on the night of February 2 at Sharya station in Kostroma Oblast, which borders Kirov Oblast.
The delay currently stands at 16 hours and 33 minutes — passengers purchasing tickets for this train are being warned about it.
The train was scheduled to arrive in Chita on February 6 at 06:18.
Also, according to the Ural Transport Prosecutor«s Office, Train No. 10, running from Moscow to Vladivostok, is delayed.
