Resident fears wolves amid bus cancellations in Ust-Ishimsky District

Buses in Ust-Ishimsky District are scheduled to run twice weekly, but cancellations have left residents without reliable transport.
Minfiza Gafurova, a resident of the village of Ilchebaga in Ust-Ishimsky District, complained that it is almost impossible to get to the district center. The local bus, which should run twice a week, does not actually operate. The only option is to go to the highway at five in the morning and wait for a passing bus from Omsk.
«Wolves roam around, where»s the guarantee that wolves won«t eat you, that you»ll even wait for the city bus. Yes, now, of course, you«ll respond that the bus runs on this route, but alas, it»s not there; if it comes once a week, that«s good. How are people supposed to get to the district center, to the hospital?»
Moreover, Minfiza writes that if you do manage to wait for the city bus, you end up in Ust-Ishim at 6:30 a.m. Hospitals are still closed, forcing people to wait outside in the cold for three hours.
The complaint was commented on by the acting head of the district, Vladimir Lyutenko. He explained that for the past two weeks, due to frosts below -35 degrees Celsius (-31°F), buses have not been dispatched on the route.
«At temperatures below -35 degrees Celsius (-31°F), the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure of Omsk Oblast recommends not releasing buses on the route.»
In response, Minfiza sarcastically noted that if the bus is too cold in such weather, then people shouldn«t have to go to work either: »So, residents of Ust-Ishim and the district, it turns out you have a privilege; if it«s -30 to -35 degrees Celsius (approximately -22 to -31°F), you shouldn»t go to work. Everyone stay home.«
Earlier this week, residents of the region complained about the reduction of three bus routes.
