Pobeda to return 140,000 rubles to Krasnoyarsk family for canceled Sochi trip

Pobeda airline will pay a Krasnoyarsk family over 138,000 rubles (approximately $1,400 at current rates) for a canceled flight to Sochi planned back in January 2022, according to the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection (Rospotrebnadzor).
The Krasnoyarsk resident bought round-trip tickets to Sochi for himself and his children on the Aviasales service from Pobeda via the ticket agent Supersaver. However, at the airport check-in counter, it turned out that their surnames were not in the airline«s booking system. The head of the family immediately contacted both Aviasales and Pobeda.
The airline responded that they had processed a refund for the purchase, but to receive it, one needed to contact the place where the tickets were bought. Aviasales said that the refund was suspended because the Supersaver agency is located abroad (after February 24, 2022, many foreign companies left Russia, including Visa and Mastercard).
The man appealed to the airline several more times, demanding a refund, but to no avail. In the end, he went to court, and Rospotrebnadzor got involved in the case. According to the court decision, the family was refunded over 138,000 rubles, including 49,000 rubles (approximately $490) for the tickets themselves, 46,000 rubles (approximately $460) as a penalty, and 30,000 rubles (approximately $300) for moral damages. The decision has entered into legal force.
In the summer of 2025, dozens of tourists accused a well-known Siberian traveler of disrupting tours to the Putorana Plateau.
