Moscow has begun testing three new models of Russian-made buses. Vehicles from LiAZ, KAMAZ, and PAZ of various capacity classes have been deployed on routes. This is part of the plan to further renew the ground transport fleet in the capital.

As reported by Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport Maksim Liksutov, over 500 new buses will arrive in the city this year. The average age of Mosgortrans vehicles is already less than five years. Daily, more than three million trips are made on buses and electric buses. Fleet renewal helps improve passenger service quality.

The new buses feature increased interior space and wide doorways. The low floor level adds convenience for passenger boarding and alighting. Additionally, the new-generation transport is equipped with special equipment for passengers with reduced mobility.

The bus reform extends beyond the capital. In 2025, 25 suburban routes in the northwest and west began operating according to Moscow standards. This means convenient schedules, modern transport, and professional drivers. New buses will also operate under the «Moscow – Oblast» project. In 2026, it is planned to launch about 50 new routes in the Moscow Region.

The integration of suburban routes into the Moscow transport system will continue. By 2028, at least 30% of such routes will be included. This stimulates the development of the entire region«s transport infrastructure, including the arrangement of dedicated lanes, modern stops, and transport hubs.

— We are improving the quality of passenger service. For this, we promptly purchase new equipment from Russian manufacturers, as instructed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, — added Maksim Liksutov.
