Khabarovsk Airlines Acquires Aircraft from Angara After License Revocation

Khabarovsk Airlines has purchased an An-24 from Angara, which lost its operating license after a crash.
Khabarovsk Airlines has purchased one of the passenger aircraft from Irkutsk«s Angara, which previously lost its certificate for passenger transportation operations, as reported in the Telegram channel of the Far Eastern enterprise.
At the end of January, Khabarovsk Airlines completed the deal to acquire the An-24RV aircraft.
«It is designed for 44 seats with the standard seat layout for this type of aircraft,» the message states.
Moreover, the Far Eastern airline recently purchased a versatile An-26-100 from the Flight Research Aerogeophysical Center.
Both aircraft were purchased with funds from the regional budget, for which 400 million rubles (approximately $4 million at current rates) were allocated. The aircraft are already in the region, located at the airport in Khabarovsk.
The airline Angara is one of two regional carriers (the second is IrAero). The company lost several certificates — for aircraft maintenance and flight mechanic training, as well as for commercial transportation — after a plane crash in Amur Oblast, in which nearly 50 people died.
Media reported that Rosstransnadzor (the Federal Service for Transport Supervision) during inspection activities after the tragedy found mass violations. They are related both to flight operations and aircraft maintenance, as well as crew training.
Angara«s last flights within passenger transportation took place on November 4. Meanwhile, the cancellation of certificates will not affect medical evacuations and aviation work for forest fire protection.
