In Yaroslavl, complaints about systematic bus delays have increased. According to residents, they have to spend 30–40 minutes at stops waiting for public transport, which is especially problematic on freezing days when the thermometer drops to -20°C (-4°F).
A Yaroslavl resident, Polina, recounted an incident on the evening of January 30, when she could not catch bus No. 13 (Suzdalskaya Street — Mashpribor) at the Oktyabrskaya Square stop for 40 minutes. «I left the office with a colleague around 7 p.m. on Friday. She left, and I stood at the stop for 43 minutes. On warm sunny days, waiting for the No. 13 bus, though annoying, does not cause physical pain from the 20-degree frost (-4°F). Excuse me, but they constantly raise fares, and the problem with this route has persisted since the days of beat-up PAZ buses and Vladimir Volkov«s city management. Is anyone planning to do something about the carrier?» the woman lamented.
Another passenger, Alexander, faced missing services on bus No. 57 (Krasny Pereval Factory — Gudovantseva Street) on the morning of February 2. «There were no buses at 7:11 or 7:26. I stood at the stop on Pervomayskaya Street,» the Yaroslavl resident commented.
Both routes are operated by the carrier Startrans. The Transport Organizer of Yaroslavl Region explained that on January 30, delays on route No. 13 were caused by heavy traffic on Moskovsky Prospekt and Sovetskaya Street. From 18:50, delays ranged from 27 minutes, and all buses ran with a delay of 20 to 40 minutes.
As for route No. 57, on February 2, the 7:11 bus did not run due to a technical malfunction of bus with license plate M289XR76. The 7:26 bus was canceled because the medical inspector did not allow the driver to work due to a fever. The company reported that an explanatory conversation was held with the dispatch service to strengthen control over bus deployment and movement.
Earlier in Yaroslavl, there were also disruptions in the operation of electric buses due to technical malfunctions caused by freezing weather. Specialists from the manufacturer are currently working to restore the units to return them to service.
