Drivers in Krasnodar Warned About Black Ice

Roads in Krasnodar are already slippery due to wintry precipitation and freezing conditions.
In Krasnodar, black ice may form on roads due to sub-zero temperatures, rain, and snow. This was reported on 3 February by the Krasnodar State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI).
The authority urged drivers to account for the difficult weather conditions, use only winter tires, choose a safe speed, increase the distance to the vehicle ahead, and avoid sudden maneuvers.
Motorists are also advised to reduce speed in advance on potentially dangerous sections — downhills, turns, bridges, and overpasses, not to get distracted while driving, and to constantly monitor the road situation.
Earlier, the regional hydrometeorological center reported that on 3 and 4 February, frosts, snowfalls, downpours, and black ice are expected in the Kuban region. Visibility on roads may drop to 500–1,000 meters, with possible fog in some areas and wind gusts of up to 15–18 m/s.
In the northern regions of the territory, daytime temperatures are expected to be 0…–5 °C (32…23 °F), at night down to –23 °C (–9.4 °F). On the Black Sea coast, temperatures are forecast to be –1…–6 °C (30.2…21.2 °F). In Krasnodar on 3 February, around –4 °C (24.8 °F) and snow are expected, and on 4 February — no precipitation and up to –2 °C (28.4 °F).
