On Wednesday, February 4, several trains to Moscow are running behind schedule due to a derailment of gasoline tank cars that sparked a fire in the Tambov region. No one was injured, but traffic through Kochetkovo-2 station has been temporarily suspended, the press service of Russian Railways (RZD) reported.
The following trains are delayed:
- No. 3 Kislovodsk — Moscow
- No. 27 Simferopol — Moscow
- No. 35 Adler — Saint Petersburg
- No. 37 Imeretinsky resort — Nizhny Novgorod
- No. 101 Adler — Moscow
- No. 139 Kislovodsk — Arkhangelsk

As reported by RZD, an operational headquarters has been set up at the scene. Fire and recovery trains have been dispatched. The cause of the incident is being investigated.
“A decision is being made on routing trains via an alternative path around the barrier point. Train crew members are providing comprehensive assistance to passengers. A comfortable temperature is maintained in the cars. Railway workers are taking all necessary measures to restore traffic,” the organization added.
A similar incident occurred on February 2 in the Kirov region: the derailment of 21 cars delayed dozens of trains heading to the capital.
