City Sets Minimum Bus Temperature at +12°C

Residents of Novosibirsk have noticed that during the frosty weather, the interiors of some buses were very cold. The city administration explained the required temperature in public transport and where to complain.
A resident of Sovetsky District, Nadezhda, reported that on January 27 and 28, the heating was not working in the morning on buses No. 23 and 45.
«Steam came out of my mouth, all passengers sat in mittens and gloves. I almost left my legs there!» she said.
In response to a request from NGS, the city administration said that the «Center for Urban Automotive and Electric Transport Management» (TsUGAET) had indeed received complaints this winter about cold buses, including routes No. 23 and 45. The mayor«s public reception office received four complaints — regarding buses No. 13, 18, 28, 57.
«The recommended temperature regime in vehicle interiors is at least +12 degrees Celsius (54°F) when the average daily outdoor temperature is below +5 degrees Celsius (41°F),» the response said.
The city administration noted that cold passengers should first contact the driver to adjust the temperature. If there is no reaction, they can call the carrier«s phone number posted in the vehicle, or contact TsUGAET at 209-06-60 or by email at gortrans_ngs@mail.ru.
In mid-February, temperatures in Novosibirsk Oblast (region) are expected to drop to -30°C (-22°F) during the dark hours.
