Yekaterinburg Hosts KHL All-Star Game: Rosters and Tickets

The KHL All-Star Game (0+) will be held in February in Yekaterinburg. Three players will represent Traktor, while Metallurg will have four players and coach Andrei Razin. However, several other familiar faces will be on the ice at the UGMK Arena, including former Chelyabinsk team goalie Zach Fucale. We tell you how much tickets cost and why it«s worth attending the KHL All-Star Game.

What is the All-Star Game

All-Star Games are an opportunity to see all the best players in the league on one ice rink. In form, it«s more of a sports show than a serious match. Players score the most beautiful penalty shots (including with a flaming stick), compete in shot power, dance, wear musketeer costumes instead of the usual uniforms, and so on. Participants are selected through fan and journalist voting, as well as by the League»s decision.

This year, the All-Star Weekend starts on February 6, and the KHL All-Star Games will be held over two days — February 7 and 8.

Who We«ll Cheer For

Players from the Chelyabinsk region are in one team — KHL Ural Stars. Its coach is Andrei Razin from Magnitka, and the captain is Yegor Yakovlev from Metallurg. The Ural team also includes Traktor defenseman Grigory Dronov, black-and-white forwards Joshua Liyo and Mikhail Grigorenko, as well as Metallurg forwards Vladimir Tkachev (who is also the league«s top scorer), Roman Kantserov and Dmitry Silantyev.

In other teams, however, familiar faces can also be seen. For example, the coaching staff of the KHL Rus Stars includes former Traktor coach Anvar Gatiyatulin, who now works at Ak Bars. And in the legionnaires« team KHL World Games, the goal will be guarded by the favorite of Chelyabinsk fans, now goalie of Minsk Dynamo Zach Fucale.

Of course, star hockey players from other league teams will also be at the match. Among the most famous is Alexander Radulov, who plays for Lokomotiv.

What About Tickets
The KHL All-Star Game will take place at the UGMK Arena in Yekaterinburg. It can accommodate up to 15,000 spectators (twice as many as the Chelyabinsk venue) and was opened a year ago. The most impressive are the hockey players« locker rooms, which even have a jacuzzi, but spectators will also find it interesting to see the giant arena.
Seats in the gallery can be bought for 2,150 rubles (approximately $25 at current rates); if you want a better view, be prepared to pay 7,000 to 8,000 rubles (about $81 to $93). Almost no seats are left in the sectors closest to the ice, and prices there go up to 12,000 rubles (around $140). And the most expensive tickets — at 16,000 rubles (roughly $186) — are for VIPs.
«Sector C204 is a business club, and the ticket includes food,» according to the description.
Recall that Chelyabinsk has hosted the KHL All-Star Game twice — in 2013 and 2022. In the latter case, there were simply crazy queues for player autographs, and a goal was scored… with shashlik (a type of skewered meat) (here is a photo report from the opening).
