Sverdlovsk Region Bans Drone Attack Imagery

Authorities in Sverdlovsk Region have banned publishing photos and videos of drone attacks, with fines for violators. The order was signed by regional head Denis Pasler.

In Sverdlovsk Region, posting photos and videos of drones, as well as the aftermath of drone attacks, has been banned. The corresponding order was signed by regional head Denis Pasler.

The document states that these images and videos could be used to prepare and carry out terrorist acts in Sverdlovsk Region. Materials that allow identification of the drone type, launch and crash sites, flight trajectories, as well as determination of the attack location and damage are prohibited from publication.

The ban also covers the dissemination of information on the operation of air defense and electronic warfare systems, data on the location of Russian Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, military facilities, communication systems, and security of critical infrastructure objects in housing, utilities, energy, industry, and bridges.

Fines for non-compliance with the order: up to 2,000 rubles (approximately $22 at current rates) for individuals, up to 25,000 rubles (approximately $275) for officials, and up to 250,000 rubles (approximately $2,750) for organizations.
