Sverdlovsk Oblast Governor Denis Pasler has signed a decree banning the public release of photographs and videos related to unmanned aerial vehicles and the aftermath of their use.

According to the document, such materials could be used to prepare terrorist acts.

The prohibition includes publishing data that could be used to determine:

  • the type of drone;
  • its launch, crash sites, or flight routes;
  • the exact attack location and scale of the damage inflicted.

The restrictions also cover the dissemination of information on the operations of air defense and electronic warfare systems, the deployment of military formations and law enforcement agencies, the location of military facilities, communication nodes, and security systems for strategically important infrastructure, including utilities, energy, industry, and bridges.

Administrative fines are stipulated for violating the established rules: up to 2,000 rubles (about $22) for individuals, up to 25,000 rubles (about $280) for officials, and up to 250,000 rubles (about $2,800) for legal entities.
