Two graduates of Urals State Law University (USLU) have taken high positions in the General Prosecutor«s Office of Russia.

What is known about the Urals graduates?

Sergei Bazhutov was born in Kazakhstan in 1966. He graduated from the law institute in Sverdlovsk in 1991. He worked in prosecutor«s offices of various Russian regions, including Primorsky Krai, Sakhalin Oblast, and Kamchatka Krai. He was prosecutor of Novgorod Oblast and the Komi Republic.

Since 2020, he has headed the Main Criminal-Judicial Department of the General Prosecutor«s Office.

Sergei Tabelsky was born in Orenburg Oblast in 1967. He graduated from the law institute in Sverdlovsk in 1993. He worked in his home region, starting as an intern and rising to deputy regional prosecutor.

In 2013–2017, he was prosecutor of Kaliningrad Oblast, and since 2017 — prosecutor of Krasnodar Krai.

Previously, a new children«s rights commissioner was appointed in Sverdlovsk Oblast. Tatyana Titova became the children»s ombudsman. She moved from her position as associate professor of international law at USLU. In her first interview with E1.RU, the children«s advocate answered questions about important issues in the region.
