Salary growth in the Tyumen region will not stop in 2026, but the dynamics will likely change. We asked experts whether salary increases are to be expected and for whom.
Marina Giltman, professor at the Department of Economics and Finance and head of the labor market research laboratory at Tyumen State University, suggests that real wages in the Tyumen region are unlikely to grow at a high pace, while moderate growth in nominal wages will continue.
«Most likely, we should not expect such explosive growth, especially in real wages,» she says.
As she notes, our region has a certain sectoral structure that differs from the national average. In her opinion, the oil and gas sector, service and maintenance industries will pull wages up. But, most likely, only for some scarce personnel, she adds.
«The labor shortage issue is not general, but rather targeted and specific to certain positions. And specifically for these specialists, wage growth will certainly continue, including real growth. In more mass sectors, such as trade and service industries, we will likely not see wage growth,» Giltman argues.
As reported to a 72.RU journalist by the press service of HeadHunter for the Siberia, Urals, and Far East macroregion, the «salary race» observed over the past few years has exhausted itself as the main tool for attracting candidates in the acutely scarce labor market. They noted that this resource is not infinite and a natural slowdown in the growth of salary offers is occurring. However, according to their survey, 59% of Ural companies intend to increase employees« base pay in 2026.
«At the same time, experts agree that salary increases this year will be targeted and affect specific specialists, primarily those in short supply and/or possessing a high level of professional skills and knowledge. Also among the competencies that will influence income levels upward are digital skills and knowledge,» added HeadHunter.
SuperJob predicts an average salary increase of 8–10% in the IT and information security industry. For highly skilled workers in industry and construction, salaries will rise by 7–10% over the year, the specialists continue.
«Doctors in narrow and high-tech specialties have firmly established themselves in the top salary league. Their incomes in the commercial sector directly depend on consumer demand, which remains consistently high. Private medicine in the modern world is one of the most reliable sectors in terms of salary dynamics. In commercial medicine, salary growth will be no lower than +10–12%,» SuperJob suggested.
Earlier we reported that the Tyumen region is looking for specialists with salaries above 300,000 rubles (about $3,300 at current exchange rates). See exactly who in this article.
We also asked economists how much one needs to earn for a comfortable life in the Tyumen region.
