Weekend Traffic Accidents in Stavropol Region Claim a Life

Over the past weekend, more than a dozen accidents occurred in the Stavropol region. Unfortunately, there were fatalities and injuries.

On Saturday, January 24, 11 accidents occurred in the region. There were no fatalities that day, but 23 people were injured, including minors. Cars collided with each other, overturned, and veered off the roadway.

Accident in the Grachevsky District

According to the Stavropol Region State Traffic Inspectorate, on January 24 around 09:30 at the 12th kilometer of the Stavropol — Alexandrovskoye — Mineralnye Vody highway, a 36-year-old driver of a Lada Vesta lost control and drove into a ditch. After that, the car overturned.

As a result, two women and three children, aged 1.5, 7, and 12, were injured. They were taken to the hospital. However, the driver was not injured. All participants were using seat belts.

It turned out that the man behind the wheel had about 15 years of driving experience. Over the past 2 years, he has been held administratively liable three times for speeding violations.

Medical UAZ Overturned in the Mineralovodsky District

On Saturday around 10:50, a 31-year-old driver of a medical UAZ was traveling from the direction of the Khutor Sredny, but lost control and drove off the road. Then the vehicle overturned, and 4 people were injured.

The driver himself and 3 passengers, who were patients, were injured. They were taken to the hospital in Pyatigorsk.

At the time of the accident, the driver was sober, reported the regional State Traffic Inspectorate. Over the past couple of years, the man has not been held administratively liable for traffic violations.

Driver Exceeded Speed Limit and Lost Control

On the same day, January 24, another accident occurred, this time in the Novoalexandrovsky District. Around 06:00, the driver of a Volkswagen Crafter exceeded the speed limit, lost control, then drove off the road, and the vehicle overturned.

As a result, 2 people were injured, with injuries of varying severity.

It was established that the 39-year-old driver was sober at the time of the accident, and over the past year, he has been held administratively liable 5 times for traffic violations.

Female Driver Caused Accident That Injured Teenagers

On Saturday, many accidents occurred. Another incident was recorded in the Izobilnensky District. According to the Stavropol Region State Traffic Inspectorate, the accident happened around 16:05 at the 43rd kilometer of the Stavropol — Izobilny — Novoalexandrovsk — Krasnogvardeyskoye highway. A 56-year-old local woman was driving a Chevrolet on a secondary road but failed to yield to a Kia Rio, which had the right of way.

As a result, both drivers and teenagers aged 16 and 17, who were in the second foreign car, were injured.

Traffic inspectors found that the woman had more than 15 years of driving experience. Over the past couple of years, she has not been held liable for traffic violations.

On the following day, January 25, fewer accidents occurred on the region«s roads. However, on this day, there was a fatal accident.

Collision Between Car and Trolleybus in Stavropol

Around 10:30 at the intersection of Oktyabrskaya Street and Kulakova Avenue, the trolleybus driver intended to turn left but failed to yield to a car and collided with an Audi.

As a result of the incident, the 40-year-old driver of the foreign car was injured. He was taken to the city hospital.

It turned out that behind the wheel of the public transport was a 50-year-old local resident who was sober, and over the past couple of years, he has not been held liable for traffic violations.

During the collision, there were no passengers in the trolleybus.

Passenger Killed After Collision in Novoalexandrovsky District

According to the Stavropol Region State Traffic Inspectorate, the fatal accident occurred around 16:00 in the village of Razdolnoye. The driver of a Moskvich-3 car exceeded the speed limit, lost control, and crashed into a MAN truck with a trailer.

Unfortunately, the 55-year-old female passenger of the passenger car died. Biological fluid was taken from the driver to determine his state of intoxication.

Pedestrian Injured in Nevinnomyssk

Another accident happened at 16:50 on one of the city streets. A 38-year-old driver of an Opel was reversing and hit a 71-year-old local woman. The woman broke her foot and was hospitalized.

Law enforcement agencies established that the driver was a woman who is not a habitual traffic violator. She has about 8 years of driving experience.
