Water pipe burst floods center of Nizhny Novgorod
Due to deep puddles, crossing the road became impossible.
A water pipe burst occurred on the morning of Saturday, January 31, in the central part of Nizhny Novgorod. Kovalikhinskaya Street was flooded, and witnesses actively shared videos and photos of the consequences on social media.
Utility service employees are working at the accident site.
According to the city administration, the pipe burst happened near house No. 9 on Nesterov Street. Utility services promptly localized the leak. Currently, repair work is underway, as well as cleaning of the roadway from water and formed ice. All work is planned to be completed by the end of the day.
This is not the first case of utility accidents in the city recently. At the end of last week, a sewage pipe burst on Permyakova Street, flooding the road. Due to low temperatures, several cars froze into the ice, and owners had to use gas torches to free them.
A few days earlier, a similar situation arose in the individual developers« association »Novoye Pokrovskoye«. After the flooding, ice crusts formed on the plots, and the depth of some puddles reached ankle height or more.
