Ufa Woman Faces Trial for GPS Stalking of Former Partner

In Ufa, a 54-year-old local woman will face trial—law enforcement alleges she tracked her former live-in partner for six months using a tracking device, after first publicizing his correspondence with another woman. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
According to the prosecution«s version, in the summer of 2024, the woman somehow »illegally gained access to the man«s phone» and distributed his correspondence with a lover to mutual acquaintances. Then, from August 2024 to February 2025, the accused placed GPS trackers on the victim«s car and monitored his movements.
The woman has not admitted guilt. She is charged under three articles of the criminal code—137, 138, and 138.1 (violation of privacy of correspondence, violation of the inviolability of private life, and illegal trafficking of special technical means for covert information gathering).
