Two Killed in Volgograd Area House Fire

Two people died as a result of a terrible fire that broke out on the morning of January 26 in the Novoanninsky District of Volgograd Region. Investigators and specialists from the fire-technical laboratory are currently looking into the causes of the fire and their deaths.

Recall that information about the fire appeared in local Telegram channels on the morning of January 26.

«Another fire! Subscribers report a fire in a private house on Oktyabrskaya Street,» the message said. A few minutes later, another post appeared:

«Firefighters are already working at the scene.»

Later, Telegram channels reported that the fire had been extinguished, and rescuers were dousing the structures to prevent re-ignition. Here, the first information appeared that there might be casualties as a result of the emergency.

«According to eyewitnesses, pensioners lived in the house, and nothing is yet known about their fate,» wrote the authors of the Telegram channel.

Later, the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for Volgograd Region confirmed the terrible suspicions of eyewitnesses.

«On January 26 at 08:57, a report of a fire in the city of Novoanninsky was received,» the rescue department«s message states. »A house measuring 8 by 6 meters was burning across its entire area. Fire crews from the 47th Fire and Rescue Unit extinguished the fire at 10:00. Unfortunately, two people died. Their identities and the cause of the fire are currently being established.«
