Two killed in fire near Volgograd

On the morning of January 26, a fire broke out in a private house on Oktyabrskaya Street in the city of Novoanninsky, leading to the death of two people. Investigators and specialists from the fire-technical laboratory are ascertaining the circumstances of the incident and the causes of the fire.
Local Telegram channels were the first to report the emergency. «Fire again! Subscribers report a fire in a private house on Oktyabrskaya Street,» was said in one of the posts. Soon, an update appeared: «Firefighters are already working at the scene.»
Later, the same sources reported on the extinguishing of the fire and measures to prevent re-ignition. Assumptions also arose about the victims: «According to eyewitnesses, pensioners lived in the house, and nothing is yet known about their fate.»
The tragic information was confirmed by the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for the Volgograd region. «On January 26 at 08:57, a report was received about a fire in the city of Novoanninsky,» says the department«s message. »A house measuring 8 by 6 meters was burning throughout. Fire crews from the 47th fire and rescue unit extinguished the fire at 10:00. Unfortunately, two people died. Their identities and the cause of the fire are currently being established.«
