Local Telegram channels reported the fire. “Another fire! Subscribers are reporting a fire in a private house on Oktyabrskaya Street,” they wrote. Soon after, they added that firefighters had already begun their work.

This is the third fire in the district in the last 24 hours. On the evening of January 25, first a house on Mira Street caught fire. The presumed cause was a short circuit in New Year«s lights. An hour and a half later, a second fire occurred on Zarechnaya Street.

According to the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for Volgograd Oblast, the first fire was extinguished at 17:46, with a burning area of 10 square meters. The cause was identified as a faulty electrical appliance. In the second case, which was put out by 20:40, the entire house, covering 100 square meters, burned due to faulty gas equipment. Both incidents resulted in no casualties or injuries.

Local residents link the frequent fires to attempts at heating: “Most likely, people are trying to heat with electricity. The wiring can«t handle it. The gas pressure is too low, and the boiler went into error mode this morning.”

The cause of the morning fire on Oktyabrskaya Street is still being determined. EMERCOM noted that the information is being clarified. Earlier in Mikhaylovka, a fire in a private house claimed the life of a four-year-old child and sent four adults to the hospital with serious injuries.
