A justice of the peace from court district No. 17 has sentenced St. Petersburg resident Andrey Medvedev, finding him guilty of making death threats.
The incident occurred on February 8, 2025, in an apartment on Nakhimov Street.
According to the investigation, the man threatened to kill his former cohabitant, choked her neck, and punched her in the face.
The victim reported that on the day of the incident, Medvedev was drinking alcohol while she slept.
Upon waking, the woman found a message from a neighbor complaining that he was wandering the hallway and knocking on neighbors« doors.
Then the victim went to the balcony where Medvedev was.
He demanded that she lie down next to him, threatening to hit her if she refused.
When the woman tried to leave, the man began to chase her, beat her, and shout threats.
“You«re finished, I»ll take you down, I«ll off you, you»re done,” he declared.
The victim claims that she perceived these words as a real threat to her life, since Medvedev had previously shown aggression while under the influence of drugs.
The defendant himself did not admit guilt.
Medvedev stated that on that day, he and his cohabitant drank together and then argued.
He denied making death threats and assault, insisting that he was only defending himself.
The man also noted that he has not used drugs since 2016 and drinks rarely.
The court took all circumstances into account and sentenced Medvedev to 250 hours of compulsory work.
