On the evening of 4 February, a young woman entered a humanitarian aid collection point on Kantemirovskaya Street in St. Petersburg and threw a Molotov cocktail. A fire broke out, but no one was injured.
A Telegram video features Cossack ataman Ulfer speaking after an arson at a humanitarian aid collection point.
Volunteers from the charitable foundation ‘Dobrovolets’, which operates the collection point, are currently dealing with the aftermath. Law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation at the scene, but the arsonist has not yet been detained.
The Telegram channel of the military-patriotic Cossack community ‘Severo-Slavyanskaya Obshchina’ published a video from the scene. In the recording, the organization’s ataman, with the call sign Ulfer, stated: «Our charitable foundation was set on fire by Ukrainian terrorists. So, we are doing everything right if they are trying to fight us using such terrorist methods. But retribution will fall upon the heads of those who did this; victory will certainly be ours. We will continue our work, and now we will deal with the consequences of the fire.»
The ‘Dobrovolets’ foundation has been operating since 2022 and is part of the Cossack community. Its volunteers collect, sort, and send supplies to participants of the special military operation and residents of the new regions of Russia.
The most prominent representative of the foundation is activist Ulfer. He participated in meetings of Prigozhin’s club on Universitetskaya Embankment, and in June 2022 he was seen at the funeral of soldier Alexei Pozharov. Ulfer counts as his associates fighters of the DSHRG (Diversionary Assault Reconnaissance Group) ‘Rusich’, in particular Yan Petrovsky (Slavyan), who was arrested in Finland and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Earlier it was reported that certain items were found in a box that the Molotov cocktail thrower had threatened to explode. However, details of this discovery have not been specified.
