Omsk Residents Spot Pillar of Black Smoke in City Center
Residents of Omsk have shared footage of a fire that occurred in the city center. Black smoke rose high into the air. Video from Lenin Street appeared on the Telegram channel «Incident Omsk».
People in the comments speculated about what exactly might be burning. One of the possibilities is a construction site located at 10a Lenin Street.
«There»s a beautiful wooden house there, I hope it«s not that one,» wrote another Omsk resident.
Judging by the footage, which shows a huge black pillar of smoke, a significant fire broke out behind the building housing the cafe «Big GUSSI».
As NGS55.RU was informed by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), a report about a fire in a building under reconstruction on Lenin Street was received at 11:08.
«Insulation burned on an area of 10 square meters. The fire was extinguished before the arrival of Russian EMERCOM employees. From Russian EMERCOM, 7 personnel in 2 vehicles were dispatched to the scene.»
No traces of the fire remain at the scene now, as shared in a photo by one of the readers.
