Fuel truck rescue on Kola highway takes over 10 hours
A fuel truck accident occurred overnight on the Kola highway. Rescue operations to extract the truck from the ditch have been ongoing for over ten hours.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on January 20 at the 22nd kilometer of the Kola highway in the Lomonosovsky District of Leningrad Oblast. The driver of a Scania fuel truck lost control, causing the vehicle to end up in a ditch, standing on its nose.

Employees from the 101st fire station of the Vsevolozhsk detachment of the Leningrad Regional Fire and Rescue Service (Leningradskaya oblastnaya protivopozharnaya-spasatelnaya sluzhba) arrived at the scene. By 11 a.m., nine hours after the accident, they were still clearing the area. By 1 p.m., specialists had pumped out 30 cubic meters of fuel that the truck was carrying.
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) for Leningrad Oblast stated that there is no threat to the environment. It is planned to lift the fuel truck from the ditch by 11 p.m., and they expect to fully extract it by midnight.
Traffic on the section of Murmansk Highway near the village of Razmetelevo was temporarily blocked, but by the afternoon, the lanes were clear for passage.
