On February 5, the publication Fontanka learned details of the case of a girl detained after setting fire to a humanitarian aid collection point for participants of the special military operation (SMO). The incident occurred on Kantemirovskaya Street in Moscow.
According to the information received, for nearly a month the criminals controlled her via phone calls, posing as representatives of various government agencies. At different times, they claimed to be employees of the Ministry of Defense, the Central Bank of Russia, Multifunctional Centers (MFCs), and the Federal Security Service (FSB).
Initially, the fraudsters forced the girl to take out several loans. Then they unexpectedly accused her of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine and demanded she record a video apologizing to the soldiers of the SMO.
After that, under the pretext of the need to check the reaction of emergency services, they demanded she «perform tasks.» As part of these actions, following the instructions of a man who introduced himself as a «representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense,» she attempted to set fire to police cars. However, the attempts were unsuccessful: the cars either managed to drive away or were behind a fence.
Angered by the failure, the attacker ordered her to find volunteer warehouses. During the search, she came across a humanitarian aid collection point on Kantemirovskaya Street and set fire to it there.
