On Thursday, February 5, at 4 a.m., a convoy of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS) arrived in the Belgorod region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported. The force grouping was sent to the border region personally by Minister Alexander Kurenkov at the request of local authorities.

«The convoy includes 23 vehicles and 54 rescuers who will help restore energy facilities after shelling in the Belgorod region,» the MChS reported.

According to Gladkov, the group includes five fuel tankers and 30 large reserve power supply sources (RPSS). These are generators that will go to healthcare facilities, water supply and sanitation systems, social infrastructure, and apartment buildings with individual heating in the municipalities most affected by shelling: Belgorod, Belgorodsky District, Shebekinsky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Rakityansky, Starooskolsky, and Gubkinsky districts.

As Vyacheslav Gladkov has repeatedly said recently, due to the increasingly frequent shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), the energy situation in the Belgorod region remains extremely difficult. Temporary accommodation centers (TACs) have been set up in the region, and the authorities are preparing heating points in case of power loss. On February 4 alone, 13 people, including three children, were injured in attacks in various municipalities.

Earlier we reported that on the morning of February 5, a drone threat was declared in the Voronezh region and sirens were activated.
