Dimitrov Bridge inspected following Volkswagen crash, road condition assessed

The accident involving a Volkswagen Polo occurred on January 10, prompting an inspection of the bridge.
In Novosibirsk, the condition of the Dimitrov Bridge was checked after an accident involving a Volkswagen Polo. Footage of the accident was published on social media, with witnesses claiming there was a rut on the roadway.
The press center of the mayor«s office, citing the department of road and improvement complex, told NGS that there is no rutting on the section.
According to the message, «During an unscheduled inspection of the structure by employees of the Municipal Institution »Gormost«, it was found that within the boundaries of the Dimitrov Bridge, there is no rutting in the asphalt concrete pavement,» — it is stated in the message.
The mayor«s office also disclosed plans for the improvement of the Dimitrov Bridge. Authorities reported that the VIS group plans to install asphalt concrete pavement on the approaches to the Dimitrov Bridge in 2026. The work will be carried out as part of the construction of the fourth bridge.
NGS has contacted the press service of the VIS group to clarify the repair timeline.
