A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Orenburg region after the death of a miner at the Gaysky Mining and Processing Plant (Gaysky GOK), who was killed in a rock collapse this morning.

The charge is under «Violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of a person» (Part 2 of Article 217 of the Russian Criminal Code).

As reported by 56.RU, the deceased man was born in 1983. New information reveals the exact location: it occurred on the 1150 level of the underground mine.

Investigators have already examined the scene of the tragedy, seized documentation, and appointed expert examinations. The investigation is under the supervision of the regional prosecutor«s office — this is on the orders of the head of the supervisory authority, Ruslan Medvedev.
