Bus driver killed in crash with Chinese truck leaves young son orphaned

The driver of a Primoavtotrans bus, who died in an accident on 22 January on the Razdolnoye – Khasan highway, was a resident of Slavyanka. Mikhail Timoshenko left behind an underage son, whom he was raising alone, according to a post on the «Slavyanskoye Television» Telegram channel.
Currently, according to preliminary information, the child is staying with his older, already adult, brothers and sisters. It is known that the authorities have already provided assistance to the families of the deceased, but the residents of Slavyanka have also decided not to remain on the sidelines and are calling on those concerned to help.
«The team of the Children»s Art School and family friends have announced a fundraiser. Anyone wishing to help can join and transfer money to the card of one of the sisters,« the post says.
Fellow villagers speak only well of the man: responsible, careful, kind. Some tourists in other channels dedicated to trips to neighboring China recall traveling with Timoshenko multiple times and being satisfied.
The editorial staff extends condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased.
The accident happened at around 20:00 near the village of Barabash (Primorye Territory). The King Lion bus was carrying tourists from China and on the 56th kilometer collided with a FAW Jiefang car carrier, driven by a Chinese citizen with six years of driving experience. The truck driver has been preliminarily named the culprit, detained, and placed in a pre-trial detention center.
Passengers from several tour agencies were on board, one of which was «Tour Center Berkut», but its representative declined to comment. Three people died in the accident, and seven more were injured and are now in hospitals in conditions of varying severity. According to a VLADIVOSTOK1.RU source close to the tourism industry and the tragedy, at least two tour groups were returning that day on the same scheduled bus. Some people likely got off earlier, while the rest were heading to Vladivostok.
