Citizen of Belarus Vladimir Vitkov, who threw someone else«s two-year-old child on the floor at Sheremetyevo, may be found insane and sent for compulsory treatment. This was reported by the Moscow Region Investigative Committee. The father of the injured toddler told our colleagues from MSK1.RU what he thinks about this prospect.

The investigation into this high-profile incident has already been completed, and the case materials will soon be transferred to court. Vitkov is accused of attempting to murder the child while under the influence of drugs.

The man faces up to 15 years in prison, but he may avoid a prison sentence. After conducting examinations, specialists found that Vitkov may not have been aware of his actions. Not only did the Belarusian have a psychiatric diagnosis initially, but before flying to Russia from Egypt, where he was vacationing, the man used drugs, which worsened his condition.

“During the investigation, a comprehensive psychological and psychiatric examination was conducted on the man, according to which he cannot understand the actual nature and public danger of his actions, in connection with which the criminal case against him will be sent to court to decide on the application of compulsory medical measures,” the Investigative Committee reported.

It is known that Vitkov was registered at a psychoneurological dispensary. “Something like schizophrenia,” the man explained in court.

The father of two-year-old Yazdan, whose family flew to Moscow from Iran after shelling began there, and who received a severe traumatic brain injury, told MSK1.RU that he will seek a harsher punishment if the man who almost killed his son is simply sent for treatment.

“There«s no smell of justice here. I will file an appeal,” said Mohammad Shahime.

According to the father, the boy is not feeling very well. He is still recovering from the consequences of the injury.

“My son is feeling bad. Not like before,” Mohammad Shahime told MSK1.RU. — My son often cries, you say something to him and that«s it…”
