In December 2025, a 39-year-old man asked a friend to find a hitman. The hitman was supposed to kill the customer«s cousin and his wife, staging it as a robbery. The price was 1 million rubles (approximately $11,000 at current rates). Instead of a hitman, police approached the 39-year-old Anapa resident, and all further actions were under their control.

The customer gave the «executor» photos, personal data of the victims, and wishes: to stage the murder as a robbery to cover the tracks. As a result, the 39-year-old man was detained.

«After receiving information about the allegedly completed »order,« confirming photographic materials and personal belongings of the victim, the suspect was detained by law enforcement officers,» says a press release from the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnodar Krai.

The detainee was charged under Part 1 of Article 30, Part 3 of Article 33, and point «a» of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (preparation for organizing a contract murder). He is now in a pre-trial detention center.
