Russia to Modernize Omsk CHP Plant with 2.8 Billion Rubles

The Russian government has approved a list of priority projects for the energy sector. This includes the modernization of a turbine unit at the Omsk CHP-4 plant, located on Kombinatskaya Street in the Sovetsky District. The information was published on the company«s Telegram channel.
According to the plan, a fully updated turbine unit with a capacity of 50 MW will be operational at the station by 2029. Its output will be sufficient to simultaneously supply electricity to over 8,000 apartments.
The company promises that the modernization should improve the reliability of power supply for residential buildings and enterprises in the region. The investment volume for the project is 2.8 billion rubles (approximately $31.1 million at current rates).
“Two turbine units at Omsk CHP-4 have already been modernized, and two more — at CHP-4 and CHP-5 — are planned to be updated in 2026,” said TGC-11 (Territorial Generating Company No. 11).
Previously, NGS55.RU reported that during cold spells, TGC-11 did not heat water in the pipes to the required temperature.
