Voronezh Oblast sees sharp rise in ARVI cases

In Voronezh Oblast, the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) continues to rise. This was reported by the regional Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing).
According to the agency, from 26 January to 1 February, 10,805 people sought medical help, of which almost half — 4,847 — were children under the age of 14.
These figures indicate a significant worsening of the epidemiological situation compared to the previous week. Then, from 19 to 25 January, 9,151 patients were registered, including 3,981 children. Thus, the total number of cases per week increased by more than 1,500 people, and among children by nearly 900.
The Voronezh Oblast Department of Rospotrebnadzor reminds residents of simple but effective preventive measures: maintaining a sleep and rest schedule; dressing appropriately for the weather; frequent hand washing, using disposable tissues; wearing protective masks in public places, especially during periods of increased incidence and when caring for the sick.
At the first signs of illness — such as fever, runny nose, cough, sore throat — specialists strongly recommend consulting a doctor and under no circumstances self-medicating.
