Rospotrebnadzor Proposes Lifting Restrictions in Chita Schools

Yelena Tartynskaya, the chief state sanitary doctor of Zabaikalsky Krai, has sent a proposal to the city administration and education committee to cancel the additional restrictions introduced in Chita schools due to the stabilization of the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and flu. This was reported by Chita.Ru on February 3, citing the press service of the Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) office.
The proposal involves canceling the following measures in all educational institutions in the city:
classroom-based learning system;
ban on holding mass sports and cultural events in schools and kindergartens;
restrictions on extracurricular activities involving children from different institutions;
mask regime for service personnel and parents when visiting schools and kindergartens.
At the same time, basic sanitary and epidemiological requirements remain in place in educational and social institutions. Control over temperature regimes, ventilation of premises, disinfection, air purification, as well as active detection and isolation of the sick will continue.
Chita Mayor Inna Shcheglova signed a decree on December 16 introducing restrictive measures and additional preventive measures in the city due to the spread of ARVI and flu. Thus, in schools from December 17 and until further notice, a classroom-based learning system was introduced—each class was assigned a separate classroom. Mass sports and cultural events combining classes and groups were canceled in schools and kindergartens, and additional extracurricular activities were also canceled. On December 17, due to the complex epidemiological situation, the Chita education committee signed an order: students in grades 1–8 went on holiday from December 22, and students in grades 9–11 from December 29.
