'Dying in Colony': Primorye FSIN Denies Sick Prisoner Rumors

The Main Directorate of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) for Primorye Territory has denied information about the critical condition of a prisoner at Correctional Colony No. 10 in the settlement of Gornoye. The information about a dying, seriously ill girl who allegedly was not receiving medical care was published by the Telegram channel Maksim Chikhunov. Politician and Human Rights Activist.
According to the blogger, relatives of Nadezhda Paramonova, who is serving her sentence in the settlement of Gornoye, previously approached him with a request to publicize their problem.
«In IK-10, a girl is dying: Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Paramonova, born December 18, 1996. For four days, her temperature has been 40°C (104°F). She does not eat or drink. Diarrhea, vomiting, a rash like measles, with a blue halo around. Help save her. There is only a paramedic in the IK,» wrote the author of the appeal.
The press service of the Russian FSIN Directorate for Primorye Territory stated that the disseminated information does not correspond to reality.
«Convicted P. is under constant dynamic observation by the institution»s medical workers and is receiving necessary treatment in full. Currently, for the purpose of additional examination, she has been hospitalized in a state healthcare institution,« the department reported.
Representatives of the Primorye FSIN also clarified that medical assistance for women in IK-10 is provided at the health post of the branch «Medical Unit No. 12» of the Federal State Institution «Medical and Sanitary Unit No. 25» (FKUZ MSCh-25) of the Russian FSIN. If necessary, convicts are referred to the regional hospital for convicts or to institutions of the state healthcare system.
In addition, the colony has organized the work of mobile medical teams. The last visit of such a team, according to the FSIN, took place on February 2, 2026.
