Yaroslavl bids farewell to caregiver killed in special military operation

A farewell ceremony was held in Yaroslavl for 21-year-old Dima Zhivoglazov, a children's home caregiver who was killed in the special military operation. He had enlisted in early autumn 2024.

In Yaroslavl, they bid farewell to 21-year-old Dima Zhivoglazov who was killed in the special military operation (his real name was Uluzbek, but during his life he asked to be called Dmitry. — Ed.). He was buried at the Military Cemetery on 25 December 2025. This was reported to 76.RU by the Vinokurova Children«s Home, where the deceased worked.

«Almost all the kids who knew Dima and communicated with him gathered at the funeral. Cadets from the missile school were also present — they helped carry the coffin. In memory of him, three volleys of a military salute were fired,» children«s home coach Andrey Lyakhovich told 76.RU. »The children«s home sent inquiries trying to find Dima»s relatives, but no one ever responded.«

Recall that in the special operation, Dima served under contract. He went to the combat zone in early September 2024. Two weeks after that — on 18 September — Dima was killed. This became known in November 2025.

Dima Zhivoglazov grew up in the Vinokurova Children«s Home and after graduation, he was invited to work there as a caregiver. He was three years old when his father was imprisoned, and he and his sister were taken away from their drinking mother. Three times the children were taken by foster families and then returned back to the children»s home.

In an interview with 76.RU, Dima said that he does not communicate with his biological parents, although he knows where they live. His family became the staff and other pupils of the children«s home. Former children»s home director Tatyana Morozova, who held a leadership position at the time when Dima came to work as a caregiver, shared her memories of him.

«My very best helper, my support. The most reliable support in such a difficult task of raising orphaned children, difficult teenagers, whom he skillfully managed, our informal leader,» shared Tatyana Morozova.

From a young age, Dima Zhivoglazov was actively engaged in sports.

Dima had been involved in kickboxing since childhood, led a healthy lifestyle, and loved to study. Caregivers held him up as an example to younger groups — they obeyed and respected him.

Kickboxing is a type of martial arts where punches and kicks are allowed, as well as some elements like sweeps and throws (depending on the style and rules).

A children«s home employee — coach Andrey Lyakhovich — noted that Dima was very responsible.

«A cheerful, joyful guy, purposeful. Always got along well with the kids. He was later taken into the children»s home, he worked at a camp with the kids. He was respected by the pupils: he was a sporty guy, quite gifted,« shared Andrey Lyakhovich.
