What will be built in Yakutsk in 2026 and the required funding

Yakutsk«s budget is actually not as huge as it might seem. The republic»s capital can spend only about 30 billion rubles ($300 million at current rates) per year on various needs, and most of the money is targeted. Part will go to officials« salaries, part to social needs, relocation of residents from dilapidated housing, and part to repairs of the housing and utilities system. But will anything new appear in the city in 2026, or will the entire budget only maintain what already exists? It turns out, something will. Let»s see what specifically.

Roads

Yefimova Street in the 203rd microdistrict has existed for a long time, but only nominally. In fact, there are no curbs or asphalt, it is full of potholes and bumps, and no gravel surfacing helps. Tens of thousands of people live in this area who use the road to get to Khabarova Street, Chernyshevsky Street, and Yaroslavsky Street faster. Some residents use it to go to kindergartens, schools, and work.

The street was intended to be repaired since 2023, but it didn«t happen. Now the money has finally been found. It will be literally built on the section from Khabarova Street to Larionov Street. The city budget has allocated 126 million rubles ($1.26 million) for this.

It will have only two lanes, with sidewalks 2 meters wide on both sides, and a bicycle path 1.5 meters wide. Three parking lots will be arranged for drivers. Buses will start running on Yefimova Street. The repair should be completed by 30 October 2026.
The construction contract was awarded to the company «RIK Avtodor» for the full cost, although two other unknown auction participants offered to reduce the work cost. The company is headed by Arian Sidorov, and the founders are unknown. The company quite often undertakes road repairs in Yakutsk and districts of the republic.
Another major road project in Yakutsk is the second stage of construction of Vilyuisky Lane on the section from Lermontov Street to the Bypass Highway. The budget allocated 74 million rubles ($740,000) for this. The lane will be completed in 2027—they plan to allocate another 200 million rubles ($2 million) there.
As Yakutsk Mayor Yevgeny Grigoriev said in 2023, when the project is finished, citizens will have the opportunity to quickly travel from Lermontov Street to the Vilyuisky Tract. In total, more than 300 million rubles ($3 million) will be spent on the project.
Social Facilities
In 2026, according to the city hall«s plan, an additional building for the Physico-Technical Lyceum will be built, which is part of Yakutsk»s master plan, agreed upon with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
It is known that the building will have 240 places, but details are not yet disclosed. In 2025, the company «King-95», known for the scandalous case regarding the repair of Lenin Avenue where mass violations were identified, won a contract for over 814 million rubles ($8.14 million) to develop design and estimate documentation for the construction of this building.
Directly for construction, the city hall plans to spend 297.9 million rubles ($2.98 million) in 2026 and another 304 million rubles ($3.04 million) in 2027.
Only one kindergarten will be built in 2026—in the 145th quarter of Yakutsk. The project envisages that the specialized developer «RFA-Invest» will deliver the 14-story residential complex «Four Seasons» in 2026, on the first floor of which a kindergarten will open. The city hall will pay almost 2.7 million rubles ($27,000) for this in 2026 and allocate another 661.4 thousand rubles ($6,614) in 2027. No more kindergartens and schools are planned for Yakutsk yet.
However, in 2028, they plan to build six kindergartens at once: in the village of Tulagino (near Yakutsk), in the Avtodoro zhny and Promyshlenny districts, in the village of Khatassy, on Kuzmina Street, and on the Vilyuisky Tract. In total, 1.6 billion rubles ($16 million) are planned for this. But there is not much specific information.
In the village of Magan (near Yakutsk), they plan to make a sports hall from an old abandoned building. The city hall plans to repair the structure, equip a hall there, and purchase exercise equipment. In 2026, 10.9 million rubles ($109,000) will be spent on this, another 16.7 million rubles ($167,000) will be allocated in 2027, and 11.3 million rubles ($113,000) in 2028. An auction for this has not yet been held.
Parks and Squares
Also this year, the city hall decided to actively take on public spaces. For the renewal of Victory Park, 9.8 million rubles ($98,000) have been allocated, despite it being relatively recently updated. What exactly is planned is still unknown.
Recently—next to Victory Park, another park named «Ytyk Sir» was built, which was equipped under the project «Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment».
Also, the authorities plan to carry out improvements in the «Naked Hearts» park, which was donated to the city by top model Natalia Vodianova, president of the eponymous charitable foundation. The authorities plan to install new play complexes according to modern standards. Local residents voted for the design project. In total, 5.5 million rubles ($55,000) are planned to be spent in 2026, and the improvements should be completed by December.
Another project—the improvement of Yuri Gagarin Square—has been allocated 5.5 million rubles ($55,000). It has been planned since 2024. It is located not far from the airport, near schools No. 38 and 24, the kindergarten «Nezabudka», and across the road from it—the «Gates of Yakutsk». The authors plan to divide the square into memorial, play, event, pedestrian, and quiet zones. An auction has also not yet been announced.
