Volgograd residents complain about cold apartments, children freezing in schools

Residents of Volgograd continue to complain en masse about the cold in their apartments. Complaints have been coming in since yesterday evening from almost every district of the city. Moreover, according to the townspeople, they are freezing not only in their apartments but also at work, and their children are freezing during lessons at schools and gymnasiums.
Mass complaints began on the evening of January 20 and continued this morning.
«Voroshilovsky district, Kamenskaya Street, 10. It has been very cold in the apartments throughout December and January. We call and complain in writing, but nothing changes, no one cares.»
«Voroshilovsky district, Krasnoslobodskaya Street, 17 — it»s cold!«
«Traktorozavodsky district, Lodygina Street, 4 — no heating for three days.»
«Krasnooktyabrsky district, Titova Street, Shtemenko Street, Kholzunova Street — it»s so cold that we have to either turn on the gas or use space heaters. The radiators are barely warm.«
Parents whose children study at Gymnasium No. 16 in the Traktorozavodsky district also complained about the unbearable cold.
«Our gymnasium has huge problems with heating! The principal makes teachers seal the Euro-windows instead of dealing with the problem. It»s 12°C (54°F) in the classrooms! At most, 15°C (59°F) by the last lesson, and even then only if the sun shines through the windows. The children are freezing and have to wear jackets during classes.«
V1.RU forwarded the complaints to the press service of «Concessions of Heat Supply» with a request to respond to them.
«From the side of »Concessions of Heat Supply,« heating is being supplied in full to Gymnasium No. 16 and at the addresses: Kamenskaya, 10 and Krasnoslobodskaya, 17. No work has been carried out. At Lodygina, 4, the heating supply was restored at 1:30 p.m. on January 20 after restoration work on the heating networks,» the department assured.
Earlier, parents of students at School No. 19 complained about the cold in the classrooms, where parents were allegedly forced to buy heaters for the classrooms. The utility workers assured that the problem was in the malfunction of the school«s internal heating networks, while the school principal, in turn, lamented that it was precisely because of »Concessions« that the children were freezing during lessons.
