Shor People in Kuzbass Tired of Living 'Like in the Stone Age' Without Power

Residents of remote villages in the Tashtagol district report having no electricity in their homes and being unable to reach hospitals. On Monday, January 26, the district administration responded that solar panels should be sufficient for the settlements.
The population of the Shor villages demands to be connected to the power grid. In comments on the governor«s Telegram channel, they reported that a corresponding court decision has already been issued and enforcement proceedings have been initiated.
However, municipal representatives responded that they have already supplied representatives of the indigenous peoples with individual solar power stations.
«If the maintenance rules, which were communicated to each user by the manufacturer, are observed, the warranty period is up to 25 years,» the response states.
At the same time, the efficiency of solar power stations directly depends on the weather and the length of daylight. Also, operation in extremely cold temperatures and snowfall is undesirable for the panels.
Furthermore, residents of the district note that the helicopter, which remains the only link to civilization, flies irregularly.
«People cannot be urgently evacuated to medical facilities, there are fatal outcomes. We live like in the Stone Age,» reports the person who appealed to the governor. The Ministry of Transport clarified that the helicopter was undergoing scheduled maintenance and will resume flights starting today.
