The wheels of many cars were almost half-frozen into the ice, creating an icy trap for vehicles. Some car owners had to use construction blowtorches to free their property.
Representatives of the press service of the «United Utility Operator» reported that by 5 a.m. on January 26, the liquid had been pumped from the roadway, and the sewage outflow had stopped. Currently, utility services are cleaning the road surface of the resulting ice.
This incident occurred against the backdrop of severe frosts that have gripped the region, which have caused a number of other utility accidents:
  • in Dzerzhinsk, residents of several streets were left without hot water and heating the day before;
  • in the village of Novopokrovsky, a flood occurred due to damage to a private organization«s networks, flooding adjacent areas where residents helped emergency crews.
