On January 28, the premiere of the play «Just to Live» took place at the «Masterskaya» Theater — the first production in Samara dedicated to the story of a veteran of the special military operation (SMO) adapting to peaceful life. The play was directed by Alexandra Lyutkevich and performed by the theater«s actors. Guests of the evening included Deputy City Head Sergei Karasev and members of the Association of Veterans of the Special Military Operation (SMO) of the region.
— I thank the Samara theater team for the production. It is important when art responds to events happening in real life. The theme of the play is complex; the director and actors managed to accurately show what often remains «off-screen» — the long and difficult path of a warrior returning to peaceful life. In the main character, some fighters will surely recognize themselves, others — their son, father, brother. I thank everyone who worked on the play for their deep exploration of the theme, — said Deputy City Head Sergei Karasev, a participant in the «Time of Heroes» program.
The play «Just to Live» is based on a play by playwright Yana Orekhova and is aimed primarily at teenagers and youth. The production has already been seen by students from eight educational institutions in Samara — more than 1000 people.
— My role is a serviceman who returns from the front and tries to find himself again. Acting when among the audience are SMO veterans is a special responsibility. But, in my opinion, we succeeded: the play turned out honest and balanced — it is not about darkness, but about overcoming. The play has already found resonance with viewers of various ages, which means that such a conversation is necessary today, — shared actor Vladimir Gubanov from the «Masterskaya» Theater for Children and Youth.
As reported by Samara Mayor Ivan Noskov, the screening ended with an open discussion that brought together viewers, the creative team, professional psychologists, and SMO veterans who attended the screening.
The next screenings of the play «Just to Live» (12+) will take place on February 19 and 25. In the future, it is planned to include it in the theater«s permanent repertoire.
The play was produced under the municipal program «Prevention of Terrorism and Extremism on the Territory of the Samara Urban District».
